Sedation for dental patientsAre you nervous when visiting a dentist? The team at Benfleet Dental Centre can help you relax through your treatment. Give us a call today to discuss your concerns we are particularly very good at helping nervous patients relax through their treatment.

Depending on your level of nervousness we may also recommend an intravenous or ‘IV’ sedation which is given by injection normally in the arm or the back of your hand. With this approach you become drowsy and unaware of the treatment but you are still able to co-operate with the dentist.

After your treatment with IV sedation the effects of the medicine take a little while to wear off. During this time we will monitor you until we feel it is completely safe to allow you to go home. We will normally advise that you do not drive, drink alcohol or work any machinery 12 hours following IV sedation.
