Ensure the best possible care for you and your baby
During pregnancy your dental health can suffer. It is important that you attend for regular, routine dental appointments during pregnancy, as because of changing hormone levels you may notice a deterioration of your oral health, including bleeding gums. It is therefore important to keep your teeth and gums clean to prevent any long-term damage.
You may need to attend for appointments with the hygienist to help keep plaque and tartar from building up. They will also be able to advise you on the best oral hygiene routine to follow at home.
It is safe for you to have routine dental treatment while you are pregnant, but wherever possible the dentist will avoid taking x-rays while you are pregnant.
