Orthodontics designed for teens
Teens have a lot going on, including school, sports and an active social life. Invisalign Teen lets them get on with their life without worrying about their appearance. Fixed braces might leave your teen feeling self-conscious, but Invisalign Teen is different.
The near invisible aligners are discreet and removable. So they can smile with confidence, take part in sports and enjoy all of their favourite foods. Aligners are changed at home, so dental checkups are kept to a minimum.
The benefits of dentist-supervised treatment
While the price of mail-order orthodontics might be tempting, we don't recommend this for patients, and certainly not for teens. Orthodontic treatment requires close supervision from a dentist. Teen teeth can be unpredictable, so mail-order orthodontics could do more harm than good.
We recognise that NHS waiting lists might inspire you to look for alternatives. This is why we offer low-cost treatment with the option to spread the cost with monthly payments. This ensures all patients can access high-quality dental care without cutting corners.

How does Invisalign Teen work?
Invisalign Teen offers the same incredible benefits as adult Invisalign braces. Your child will wear their clear plastic aligners for 20-22 hours per day, removing them to eat and brush their teeth. A fading blue dot will indicate when it is time to change the aligners. Typical wear time for each aligner is 12-14 days. Once they have completed the treatment, they will need to wear a retainer at night to maintain the results.
What can Invisalign fix?
Invisalign is highly effective for treating a range of alignment issues. This includes gaps in the teeth, rotations, crooked teeth, overcrowding, overbite, crossbite and open bite.
What is the best age for braces?
Your dentist will start monitoring your child's teeth once they have all of their permanent teeth, sometimes even earlier. This is typically around the age of 12. Regular dental checkups will ensure issues with alignment are spotted and monitored early.
Who is a good candidate for Invisalign?
You should have good oral health and no signs of gum disease. A trip to our oral hygienist can help to prepare your teeth for Invisalign treatment. You should also be self-disciplined to wear the aligners for 20-22 hours every day. Only a consultation can determine if you are a candidate for teeth straightening.
Can my child play sports with Invisalign Teen?
Absolutely! One of the perks of Invisalign is that they won't need to stop participating in sports just because of their orthodontic treatment. Invisalign Teen braces are removable, so they can either replace their aligner with a gum shield, or wear a specialist gum shield that fits over their aligners.
What happens if my child loses an aligner?
Accidents happen, and more often when teens are involved! If you lose an aligner, get in touch with our friendly dental team for advice. Depending on where you are in the treatment programme, your child may need to return to wearing their last aligner and wait for a replacement, or move to the next aligner in the series.
