Preparing for the New Year – Budget for Your Dental Treatment

Spreading the cost of your dental treatment can help you to improve your oral health. It will enable you to access the care you need without compromise. So, rather than avoiding treatment or choosing a cheaper option, you can access the treatments you want without delay.
We’ve put together this guide to help you to understand the options available to you if you decide to budget and spread the cost of your dental treatment. We’re here to help, so if you have any questions about your treatment payment plan, get in touch with the team to find out how we can help.

Spreading the cost of treatment
Capitation schemes are designed to help you spread the cost of your dental treatment by making monthly payments by direct debit to your dentist or an independent company who will run the scheme.
It is possible to have either a maintenance or a comprehensive plan. Costs will vary from dentist to dentist and will depend on the health of your teeth and gums.
A maintenance plan will offer preventative treatment including a set number of examinations, hygiene appointments and x-rays. You may also receive a discount on certain other routine treatments, specialist treatment will be excluded.
A comprehensive plan will offer unlimited dental treatment but may not cover laboratory fees and other specialist treatments. You will need to ensure that you have no outstanding dental treatment prior to joining this kind of plan.

Payment plans from Benfleet Dental Centre
Here at Benfleet Dental Centre, our exclusive membership plans will not only provide great value for money, but allow you to spread the cost of your dental treatment avoiding large unexpected bills.
You will also benefit from our Worldwide Emergency Dental Cover so you need never worry about toothache or a broken tooth again whether at home or abroad.
We have two levels of coverage that will allow you to care for your teeth while also accessing emergency world dental cover and money off further treatment. These plans are ideal for staying on top of your check ups and avoiding any unexpected bills.
It can also help you to budget for things like dental hygiene treatments, which should also become a regular part of your oral care routine.
Choose your plan
Our Gold Care Plan covers 2 examinations, 2 hygienist visits, x-rays when required, emergency appointments and you will receive 10% off any additional treatment excluding dental implants or orthodontic treatment and not to be used in conjunction with any other offers. All for £11.95 a month – that’s just 40p a day.
Our Platinum Care Plan includes all of the items on the Gold Care Plan plus 2 additional hygienist appointments, so you would be entitled to 4 hygienist appointments each year. Our Platinum Care Plan is only £17.95 a month, that’s just 60p a day.

Benefits of monthly plans
Alongside the above benefits join any of our plans and you will also benefit from appointments at a time to suit you and guaranteed access to the practice even if your regular dentist is not available. This means you’ll never have to wait for treatment, which can lead to improved health outcomes for patients.
The insurance component of our membership plan includes emergency callout cover, emergency dental cover overseas including the USA and Canada, dental trauma cover and redundancy cover for 12 months.
You will also receive special member only offers throughout the year. This could include early access to new treatments or money off popular cosmetic treatments.

Accessing cosmetic dentistry with payment plans
Alongside monthly payment plans to cover the cost of routine care, you can also access cosmetic and restorative dentistry for a low monthly payment. If you’ve been dreaming about a smile transformation but thought the cost would be too high, you can spread the payments with a monthly plan.
There are a number of benefits to this approach, including:
You can access the treatments you want, not just the treatments you can afford right now. This can lead to improved aesthetic outcomes and better decision making, as you won’t feel restricted by your budget. A great example of this would be in choosing a root canal and porcelain crown restoration rather than opting to have a tooth extracted. While an extraction is cheaper, there may be the possibility of saving the tooth, but you may feel hesitant to do this because of the cost. With a payment plan, you can choose the better option, not just the most affordable option.
You can start treatment straight away. You don’t have to wait until you have saved up money to pay for the treatment. By choosing an affordable monthly payment plan, you can get started with treatment on your schedule, which means your dream smile could be closer than ever before.
You’ll have access to a wide range of cosmetic and restorative treatments that aren’t available on the NHS. If your only experience of dental care is NHS dental care, you might be surprised to learn what you can achieve with private care. This could include adult orthodontics, aesthetic restorations or even just teeth whitening.
If you’re curious about what treatments you might be a good candidate for, we encourage you to get in touch with your dentist to arrange a consultation. You’ll have a chance to talk about your concerns so your dentist can offer treatment recommendations you might like to explore.
How to register
If you would like to join one of our exclusive membership plans you will need to come into the surgery to complete an agreement form, which will require your signature and bank details.
This will enable us to set up your monthly direct debit, which will include an initial administration fee of £9.50 which will be collected with your first payment. You will have to wait a specific period before you can book your first hygiene appointment. We’ll then send you regular reminders to book checkups and appointments so you don’t forget.
If you have any questions or require any more information call Benfleet Dental Centre today on 01702 557766 or pop in and one of our team would be happy to discuss our exclusive membership plans further.
